What is VOTARO?
VOTARO is a community-ranked leaderboard for the best new products — the apps, tools, and websites builders ship. Builders submit a product for a free listing, and the community votes to decide what climbs the rankings.
How does voting work?
You can cast one vote per hour, for one product. The cap keeps the board reflecting real, ongoing community interest rather than a one-time popularity spike. You don't need an account — voting works straight from your browser.
How are products ranked?
The main ranking is all-time and purely vote-based: the product with the most accumulated votes ranks first, and votes never reset. Alongside it, the Today, Last 7 days and Last 30 days boards rank products by the votes they earned in that window, and Trending shows who gained the most each week.
Is it free to list my product?
Yes. Listing is completely free — there is no cost to submit and no paid tier required to appear on the board. Featured Slots are a separate premium placement with their own claim process.
How do I submit my product?
Go to the Free Listing page and drop in your URL. The name, description, and favicon are pulled from your site automatically, and you can optionally pick a category, add an About text, tags, pricing and platforms (or let "Suggest with AI" prefill them for you to edit). We check that your site is live, then your product goes on the board where anyone can start voting for it. Occasionally new listings are held for a quick manual review first.
Can an AI agent like Claude or Codex prepare my listing?
Yes. If you use an assistant such as Claude, Codex or ChatGPT, it can prepare the listing for you: it reads your site, runs the same checks as the submit form (valid URL, duplicates, spam, site reachable) and hands you a personal link to the Free Listing page with everything prefilled. Agents connect through our MCP server (votaro.app/mcp, tool prepare_listing) or the API (POST /api/v1/prepare); details are in votaro.app/llms.txt and /openapi.json. Agents can't publish anything themselves: you open the link, review and edit the details, complete the human check and press submit. Ask your assistant to only use facts from your own site, and always read the prefilled form before you submit.
Can I edit or update my listing after submitting?
Listings are managed by the VOTARO team: if your product's name, URL, or description changes, contact us via the contact form and we'll update it for you.
What happens if my site goes offline?
We re-check listed sites daily. If a site fails to load several checks in a row, its listing is hidden from the board, and it comes back automatically once the site loads again.
What are Featured Slots?
Featured Slots are paid, sponsored placements that run for exactly one week after approval, with a direct link to your site. Every claim is reviewed by the VOTARO team before going live. See the Featured page for current availability.
How are votes protected against bots and abuse?
VOTARO uses Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm you're human, rate limits submissions and votes per device and IP, and enforces the one-vote-per-hour rule server-side. Votes we reasonably believe to be fraudulent or automated may be removed.
What kind of content is allowed on VOTARO?
VOTARO is a general-purpose leaderboard, but NSFW, nudity, and pornographic content are strictly prohibited and will be removed immediately. Anything illegal or infringing is also banned.
Do I need an account to vote or submit?
No. VOTARO works without accounts — submissions and votes are tied to your device and IP for anti-abuse purposes, not to a login.
How do I get a backlink from VOTARO?
Add the VOTARO badge to the page at your listed URL, then press "Verify my badge" in your listing's launch kit (linked at the bottom of your listing's page). Once we find a followable link to votaro.app there, the "Visit site" link from your VOTARO page to your site carries rel="ugc" instead of nofollow. We re-check weekly, so keep the badge in place. Listings without the badge are marked nofollow.
