Privacy Policy

VOTARO (votaro.app) is operated by the VOTARO team. For any privacy question, request, or complaint, reach us through our contact form.

1. Information We Collect

When you submit a listing or cast a vote, we collect limited information necessary to operate the Service and protect it from bots and automated agents:

• Submission data — the name, URL, and description you provide.
• IP address — used for rate limiting and to detect automated abuse.
• Device fingerprint — a hashed identifier derived from your browser and device, used to enforce the one-vote-per-hour rule. This is stored as a non-reversible hash, not raw device data.
• Anti-bot token — Cloudflare Turnstile processes a verification token in your browser to confirm you are a human. Cloudflare's handling of that token is governed by the Turnstile Privacy Addendum and Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Email address — if you subscribe to updates, we store your email address until you unsubscribe. Subscriptions are double opt-in: the address stays unconfirmed, and is never emailed or shared, until you activate it via the confirmation link. Every message includes a one-click unsubscribe link that permanently deletes the address. We do not sell or share email addresses.
• Referral attribution — outbound links from the board carry a utm_source=votaro tag so listed sites can see the traffic VOTARO sends them. No personal data is involved.

2. How We Use Information

We use the data collected to display the leaderboard, tally votes, prevent fraudulent or automated voting, moderate submissions, and keep the Service safe. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

We store a small amount of data in your browser: a device fingerprint used to enforce voting limits, your voting state, and your cookie-banner choice (accept or decline). Cloudflare Turnstile may set its own cookies and process data in your browser to verify you are a human. This processing is subject to the Turnstile Privacy Addendum. If you clear your browser storage or block it, voting limits reset and the cookie banner will reappear.

4. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored in cloud databases (Turso/libSQL). We take reasonable measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

We keep submission, vote, and anti-abuse records (IP addresses and device fingerprints) only as long as they serve the purposes described in this policy — operating the leaderboard and enforcing vote limits. Listing data remains published for as long as a listing appears on the board.

5. Content Policy & NSFW Prohibition

VOTARO does not host or promote NSFW, nudity, or pornographic content. If you believe prohibited content has been submitted, you may contact us and we will remove it promptly. We are committed to keeping the Service appropriate for a broad audience.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or ask about the data we hold about you, through our contact form. We will respond to legitimate requests within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
